Our Story

Founded in November 2021 by Yanlin Chen and Joy Wei Fallenius, Olal’Art is a creative venture born from a lifelong friendship. Their journey began in Shanghai, where both grew up, before fate brought them together in London 18 years ago. Despite living in different cities—Paris, Hong Kong, and Beijing—their connection endured, eventually leading them to settle in Singapore, where they united their shared passion for art.

The name Olal’Art is inspired by the French exclamation “ohlala”—an expression of delight, surprise, or fascination. Much like the word itself, the gallery seeks to spark curiosity and joy through art, blending Chinese and French artistic influences in unexpected ways. The name is memorable, evocative, and perfectly encapsulates our mission: to intrigue, inspire, and invite people into the vibrant world of art.

At Olal’Art, we believe art is a conversation and communication. Through dialogues, interviews, and curated experiences, we connect art lovers directly with artists, uncovering the stories and intentions behind each piece. Just as an angel’s thoughts may seem mysterious to the ordinary eye, we strive to be the bridge—translating artistic vision into relatable insights while fostering a two-way exchange. Artists, too, gain deeper understanding of their audience, creating a dynamic interplay of perspectives.
